About Us

Northern Italian cuisine – fresh, hearty and possibly unexpected

With its roots in the food of the original merchants of Venice, who would eat cicchetti while bartering over spices and wine, Venetian food is different. Refreshing, hearty, and always an experience.

Veneto’s cool climate has created a tradition of rich food full of warmth. 

Think polenta, rice, radicchio and seafood full of strong flavours.

Osteria Polpo was founded by Paul Serafin, second-generation Venetian and a popular figure in Adelaide’s hospitality scene. 

His philosophy: food is pleasure.
Life is too short not to enjoy good food, but don’t take it too seriously. Allegria (good company and fun) is equally important.

When you come to Osteria Polpo, you’ll be welcomed into a warm and comfortable environment where every conversation and every plate of food is an experience. Just like you’re in the Veneto, standing at the bar having un ombra e un ciacola while eating cicchetti or enjoying a hearty meal in the dining room.

At Osteria Polpo, we pride ourselves in bringing the Northern Italian hospitality to you by serving you our house-made pasta. Like the Nonnas in Veneto, we make our pastas by hand.
